Our Mission

nYtevibe is a community-driven platform that helps people discover and share real-time nightlife experiences. These guidelines ensure nYtevibe remains a safe, authentic, and enjoyable space for everyone.

1. Be Authentic

1.1 Honest Vibe Reports

• Submit vibe reports that accurately reflect your genuine experience at the venue
• Do not fabricate or exaggerate vibe status, energy levels, or wait times
• Vibe media (videos and photos) must be captured in real-time at the venue using the nYtevibe app
• Do not submit pre-recorded, downloaded, or AI-generated content as live vibes

1.2 Accurate Profile Information

• Use your real name and accurate profile information
• Do not impersonate other people, venues, or public figures
• One account per person — multiple accounts are not permitted

1.3 Genuine Reviews

• Reviews should be based on your personal experience at the venue
• Do not post fake reviews, paid reviews, or reviews for venues you have not visited
• Constructive criticism is welcome; defamation is not

2. Be Respectful

2.1 Toward Other Users

• Treat all users with respect, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or background
• No harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation, or hate speech
• No stalking or unwanted contact
• Respect other users' privacy settings and visibility preferences

2.2 Toward Venues

• Respect venue rules regarding photography, filming, and recording
• Do not post content intended to damage a venue's reputation with false information
• Report genuine concerns through proper channels rather than public shaming

2.3 Toward People in Your Content

• Be mindful of other patrons who may appear in your vibe videos and photos
• Do not intentionally film or photograph individuals without their awareness
• Do not post content that exposes, embarrasses, or endangers others
• Remove content promptly if someone featured in it requests removal

3. Prohibited Content

3.1 Illegal Content

• Content depicting or promoting illegal activities (drug use, underage drinking, violence)
• Content that violates local, state, or federal laws
• Content depicting or soliciting sex trafficking or exploitation

3.2 Harmful Content

• Sexually explicit or pornographic material
• Graphic violence, gore, or content depicting harm to others
• Content promoting self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders
• Content promoting dangerous activities or challenges

3.3 Child Safety

• Any content involving minors in a sexual or exploitative context is subject to immediate account termination and reporting to law enforcement (see our CSAE Policy)
• Content depicting minors in nightlife environments

3.4 Spam and Manipulation

• Automated or bot-generated vibe reports, reviews, or check-ins
• Coordinated manipulation of venue vibe scores or credibility
• Spam friend requests or mass messaging
• Promoting external products, services, or websites through vibes or reviews

3.5 Intellectual Property

• Content that infringes on copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
• Using others' music, videos, or images without permission
• Reposting venue promotional material as your own vibe content

4. Vibe Media Guidelines

4.1 What Makes a Good Vibe

• Capture the atmosphere: music, crowd energy, lighting, decor
• Keep it brief and authentic (vibes expire after 60 minutes)
• Show the venue experience, not individual people
• Be honest about energy levels and wait times

4.2 Recording at Venues

• Check if the venue allows filming before recording
• Respect VIP areas, private events, and restricted zones
• If asked to stop recording by venue staff, comply immediately
• Do not record in restrooms, private rooms, or backstage areas

5. Credibility System

Your credibility score reflects the accuracy and reliability of your contributions:

• Score increases when your vibe reports are vouched for by other users and when your reports align with consensus
• Score decreases when your reports consistently conflict with what others observe
• Users with very low credibility (below 40%) may have their vibe reports given reduced visibility
• Repeated guideline violations will lower your credibility and may result in restrictions

6. Enforcement

6.1 Reporting

• Report content that violates these guidelines using the in-app report feature
• Reports are reviewed by our moderation team
• You can also email safety@nytevibe.com for urgent concerns

6.2 Consequences

Violations may result in:

• Content removal — Offending content is removed from the platform
• Warning — First-time or minor violations may receive a warning
• Credibility reduction — Repeated violations lower your credibility score
• Feature restrictions — Temporary loss of ability to post vibes, reviews, or send friend requests
• Account suspension — Temporary suspension for serious or repeated violations
• Permanent ban — Permanent account termination for severe violations (illegal content, CSAE, threats)

6.3 Appeals

If you believe your content was removed or your account was actioned in error, you may appeal by contacting appeals@nytevibe.com within 30 days. Include your username, the action taken, and why you believe it was incorrect.

7. Your Safety

• Never share your exact home address or personal identification details in vibes or profiles
• Use privacy settings to control who can see your check-in location
• Enable Ghost Mode if you want to use the app without broadcasting your presence
• Trust your instincts — if a situation feels unsafe, leave and contact local authorities
• nYtevibe is a venue discovery tool, not a personal safety device; always prioritize your physical safety
